The 4,500-meter manned submersible working mother ship and the "Exploration One" vessel for the deep-sea scientific research general platform were completed and delivered in Chengxi Guangzhou.

On May 5, the 4,500-meter manned submersible working mother ship and the deep-sea scientific research platform "Exploration One" steamship were completed and delivered at CSSC Chengxi Ship (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd. in Guangzhou Nansha CSSC Longxue Shipbuilding and Shipbuilding Base. Officially delivered to the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and will depart from Nansha on the 6th to sail to Sanya, Hainan. The ship will also plan to sail to the Mariana Trench in the Pacific Ocean recently to carry out the pilot "Haidou Abyss" scientific research mission of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

The full-load displacement of the "Exploration One" ship is 6250T, the length of the captain is 94.45M, and the width is 17.9M. According to the mission of the National 863 Program, "Exploration One" will become the first domestically-made 4500-meter deep-sea submersible support mother ship. The next transformation will also support my country's 10,000-meter manned and unmanned submersibles for sea trials and deep-sea operations. According to Owen Wenguang, the project manager, as a deep-sea submersible mother ship, "Exploration One" has the characteristics of strong endurance, more than 10,000 nautical miles, and self-sustainability of more than 60 days. Secondly, there is an internationally advanced DP2 dynamic positioning system on board, which can realize the operation in the whole sea area. In addition, the curved design of the bow fully wraps the hull, which can resist strong winds and waves at high speeds. The most important thing is that an A-frame is attached to the stern, which can drop the submersible into the deep sea. Connected between the submersible workshop and the A-frame are two long straight rails with winches for transporting manned submersibles.
