The Wengzhou City Oufei Phase I Reclamation Project encompasses a reclaimed area of 132,800 mu, with a total seawall length of 36.66 km—comprising the North Dyke at 4.30 km, the East Dyke at 28.85 km, and the South Dyke at 3.51 km. The project is classified as a Grade-I engineering undertaking, and its key structures, including the seawalls and sluice gates, are all designated as Grade-1 facilities, designed to withstand a once-in-100-year tidal surge. A total of six sluice gates have been strategically placed throughout the project: North No. 1 Gate (10 openings × 8 m), North No. 2 Gate (6 openings × 8 m plus a 16-m navigable channel), East No. 1 Gate (3 openings × 8 m), East No. 2 Gate (5 openings × 8 m), South No. 1 Gate (10 openings × 8 m), and South No. 2 Gate (6 openings × 8 m + a 16-m navigable channel). All of these gates are built on soft ground foundations, with a combined clear width of 352 meters.

Xiepu Sluice Station (Winch-Type Gate Operator)

The Xiepu Lock Station primarily includes a newly constructed 6-bay sluice gate with a total clear width of 48 meters, designed to handle a maximum discharge capacity of 349 cubic meters per second—more than twice the average flow rate of Guizhou's Huangguoshu Waterfall. Meanwhile, the newly built pumping station is equipped with five vertical shaft through-flow pumps, capable of discharging up to 250 cubic meters per second, making it the largest pump station in the province to date. Notably, each individual pump unit boasts a design flow rate of 50 cubic meters per second, ranking first among all vertical shaft through-flow pumps nationwide. Remarkably, the entire pumping system can drain an amount of water equivalent to that of West Lake—including its full reservoir volume of approximately 14 million cubic meters—in less than 16 hours.

Bull Run Interchange (Lock)
Project Overview >>>
The Benniu Water Control Hub Project is one of the key hub projects within the Xinmeng River Extension and Enlargement Project. Located at the confluence of the Xinmeng River and the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal in Benniu Town, Changzhou City, the project primarily focuses on flood control, water diversion and drainage, as well as navigation support. The hub consists mainly of a flyover culvert under the Beijing-Hangzhou Canal, a ship lock, regulating gates, and an administrative facility. The ship lock chamber measures 135 meters long, 16 meters wide, and 3.45 meters deep. The regulating gate, situated on the eastern side of the Xinmeng River channel, is a single-span structure with a clear span width of 16 meters. Its chamber is aligned level with the ship lock’s canal-side headworks on the Beijing-Hangzhou Canal. Both the ship lock headworks and the regulating gate chamber are equipped with top-lying flat steel plate gates paired with winch-operated hoists for opening and closing. Meanwhile, the flyover culvert beneath the Beijing-Hangzhou Canal is positioned approximately 210 meters east of the Xinmeng River’s entrance into the canal. It is designed as a 12-span structure, each spanning 8 meters wide by 6.5 meters high, constructed using cast-in-place reinforced concrete. The total water passage area of the culvert reaches 618 square meters. On the north side of the Beijing-Hangzhou Canal, a working gate is installed at the culvert’s upstream end, also fitted with a winch-operated hoist for operation.
