On the morning of November 17, 2018, the establishment ceremony of the Qingdao Rail Transit Industry Demonstration Zone and the signing event for the "Dual Attraction and Dual Introduction" projects aimed at transforming old growth drivers into new ones were held in the conference hall on the second floor of the Qingdao Ziyue Pullman Hotel.

The Qingdao Rail Transit Industry Demonstration Zone is located in the central area of the northern shore of Jiaozhou Bay—Chengyang District. Covering a planned area of 83 square kilometers, it is a cutting-edge industrial park driven primarily by the rail transit industry. In 2017, the region’s rail transit industry generated an output value of 71 billion yuan and contributed 4.1 billion yuan in tax revenue. The zone aims to surpass 100 billion yuan in total output value across the entire rail transit industry chain by 2020. Currently, domestically produced high-speed trains account for 60% of all operational trainsets nationwide, while city-rail and metro vehicles manufactured here make up 25% of the national market—a testament to the region’s world-class industrial clustering. Meanwhile, all preparatory work within the demonstration zone is already well underway: the first batch of platform projects at the innovation center, with a total investment of 5 billion yuan, are being rapidly constructed, while three additional advanced industrial parks—including a new materials complex and a metro innovation park—each backed by a 35-billion-yuan investment, are being expedited to ensure timely completion.
At the event, 35 companies from across the country signed agreements with the Qingdao Rail Transit Industry Demonstration Zone, planning a total investment of 18.5 billion yuan. Among them were leading domestic research institutions such as the Beijing Institute of Aeronautical Materials and the Harbin Welding Research Institute, as well as well-known, high-quality enterprises like China Resources Logistics Group and Beijing Zhongxing Tong Investment Group. Additionally, powerful financial firms such as Cyberluck Investment Group and PICC Investment Holdings Co., Ltd. were also present. Yang Chao, Member of the Standing Committee of the Chengyang District Committee, Deputy District Mayor, and Deputy Director of the Qingdao Rail Transit Industry Demonstration Zone Management Committee, jointly signed contracts with key industry projects in the demonstration zone, including Qingdao Haijian Group, Nanda Aotuo Technology, and China Resources Logistics Group. Vice Mayor of Qingdao City Zhang Deping, Vice President of CRRC Corporation Limited Wang Jun, Secretary of the Chengyang District Party Committee Wang Bo, District Mayor Li Hongbing, and General Manager of Qingdao Metro Group Wang Yongliang, among other leaders, took to the stage to witness and facilitate the signing ceremony.

Leaders from nearly 100 companies related to the rail transit industry chain attended the meeting, including CRRC Corporation Limited, the National High-Speed Train Technology Innovation Center, CRRC Qingdao Sifang Locomotive & Rolling Stock Co., Ltd., CRRC Sifang Rolling Stock Co., Ltd., CRRC Sifang Vehicle Research Institute Co., Ltd., China Aviation Engine Beijing Institute of Aeronautical Materials, Harbin Welding Research Institute, Nanda Aotuo Technology Jiangsu Co., Ltd., China Construction Eighth Engineering Division Corporation Limited, China Railway Construction Engineering Group Co., Ltd., and China Railway Construction Investment Group Co., Ltd.
