On January 20, Suzhou Zhongsheng Hongxin Information Technology Co., Ltd. and Jiangsu Industrial Technology International Research Institute announced that they would join the OpenPOWER Foundation. Suzhou Zhongsheng Hongxin Information Technology Co., Ltd. plans to use the POWER architecture to provide customized chip design solutions to promote server innovation in areas such as big data, cloud computing, and next-generation data centers.

　　The OpenPOWER Foundation is an open source development alliance based on the IBM POWER microprocessor architecture. It is committed to creating advanced server, network, storage and acceleration technologies. It aims to provide more choices, stronger control and flexibility for the next generation of developers and cloud computing centers. The OpenPOWER Foundation opened POWER software and hardware development for the first time, and authorized POWER intellectual property licenses to other manufacturers, which greatly expanded the ecosystem of developers on the platform.

　　Suzhou Zhongsheng Hongxin Information Technology Co., Ltd. has obtained licenses for IBM POWER architecture, POWER8 related intellectual property rights, and chip design tools to develop and promote server processor products in the Chinese market. Jiangsu Industrial Technology International Research Institute will help build and promote the POWER chip development ecosystem in Jiangsu Province and nationwide.
