According to reports, the Xiepu Sluice Station is the final and largest-level cascade pumping station along the main channel of the Cijiang River within the Yaojiang Second Channel (Cijiang) Project. The newly constructed sluice gate has a total clear width of 48 meters, while the new pump station boasts a capacity of 250 m³/s—more than twice the average flow rate of Huangguoshu Waterfall in Guizhou Province. Moreover, each individual unit is designed to handle a flow rate of up to 50 m³/s, making it the highest-capacity vertical shaft run-of-river pump in China. Remarkably, this single unit can discharge an amount of water equivalent to the entire volume of West Lake—including its roughly 14 million cubic meters—in less than 16 hours!
