A water treatment plant, commonly referred to as a tap water plant or potable water treatment facility, is a facility that purifies natural water sources—such as river water, lake water, reservoir water, or groundwater—through a series of physical, chemical, and biological processes, producing clean, safe tap water that meets the national hygienic standards for drinking water (GB 5749-2022).

For the water treatment automation system at the water purification plant, we typically design it in three layers: the information layer, the control layer, and the equipment layer. The central control room serves as the information layer, housing engineer stations, operator stations, video stations, data servers, and printers. Optical cables connected to a core switch are used as the primary means of transmitting and facilitating information exchange.

The control layer is typically designed in two ways based on the actual scale of water treatment: a medium-scale water treatment control system and a large-scale water treatment control system.


Medium-Scale Water Treatment Control System for Purification Plants

For medium-scale water treatment tasks, the NA300 series PLC can be used for relevant control, with information from each control station monitored via the NATouch touch screen.


Large-Scale Water Treatment Control System for Purification Plants

For large-scale water treatment tasks, the NA400 series PLC can be used for relevant control, with information from each control station monitored via the NATouch touch screen. The NA400 large-scale PLC features multiple redundancy functions, including CPU hot standby redundancy, power supply redundancy, and network redundancy. Additionally, the PLC system supports ring network connections, ensuring enhanced safety and reliability.
